Speculations Under Water
A Study on Climate Change Places Holland in Danger
By Siggi Weidemann
The Hague – Storms ravage dikes and destroy channels putting a major part of Holland, including the Hague, entirely under water – a scenario which could become a reality in as little as three years. This conclusion on the consequences of climate change was reached by a group of California scientists on behalf of the Pentagon in Washington. Within the Hague, the government and the royal family, there is normally much cause for concern. In the case of the Pentagon’s study, however, the national weather service KNMI has reacted with amusement due to a lack of scientific support.
Willard Edisson, speaker for the Ministry of Transportation and Water Management, puts into perspective the recently published study in the German newspaper ‘Süddeutsche Zeitung’: “This is a speculation developed to keep strategists alert. A dramatic, fictional catastrophe-scenario becoming reality. It concerns the plausible development of global climate change. But our country is safe.“

PENTAGON-STUDY
Yoda's Apocalyptic Vision
They call him Yoda; his report is appreciably causing problems for President Bush. One of the sharpest minds in the Pentagon, he warns in an eye-opening study that fluctuations in the climate are more dangerous to the security of the United States than terrorism. The Bush Administration remains silent in regards to the document, due to a fear of pressure on US industry.
The scenario is just as menacing as it is realistic; the gulfstream, which acts as a giant water heater pumping billions of liters of tropical water north, is losing power, changing direction and completely collapsing. Icy winds roar across northern Europe, devastating storms and floods ravage the coasts. Forests die out, the plains near the North and Baltic Seas freeze into tundras.
The dramatic climate changes will create emergencies for people and governments alike. Oil becomes less abundant, eroding peaceful alliances. Bloody conflicts break out, wars for crude materials and food destroy continents. Within a few years time the world is on the brink of total anarchy.
