Initiative for a Global Marshall Plan

Stuttgart AP/BaZ.  Sir Peter Ustinov, Hans-Dietrich Genscher and Erst-Ulrich von Weizsäcker are among 50 personalities who on Saturday started an initiative for a global Marshall Plan.  They propose Europe to place itself at the head of a worldwide development plan.  The “Stuttgart Declaration†calls for the establishment of an EU advisory board for the development and implementation of the plan.

According to the initiative, the goal is to secure worldwide economic growth, freedom, and security through international cooperation and a balance between economic, environmental and social aspects.  In order to achieve this, the Initiative proposes to assume responsibility for the applied expansions principle of the Commission’s financing.  The point of it must be to move away from a one sided and manifold entirely useless money funds transfer in segments of so called development aid to an efficient development collaboration.
