Here you can see that up to today, we have received about 15% of the necessary funds of € 100,000 for the campaign. Thanks a lot. We are very happy about the broad basis of support and hope that soon you will be among the donors too. Help us to use this window of opportunity!

Global Marshall Plan in the US
What exactly is the Global Marshall Plan as conceived by Network of Spiritual Progressives (NSP)? And why are people so excited about it?

The simple answer is: PLEASE READ IT. You can find it on the home page of www.spiritualprogressives.org.

The key is not the details so much as the entire vision. It's a vision that shows what the U.S. could be as a positive force in the world. We are not saying that that will be easy--in fact, we know that like the struggles against sexism, homophobia, racism, apartheid in South Africa, etc. etc. etc. the first reaction of most people will be "so nice, but so unrealistic." On the other hand, because it is a compelling vision, some people will begin to organize around it,
and it could have a profound impact on American thought in the years. With YOUR help, we can make that happen.

What you learn from history: at first the "common sense" derides radical new ideas as unrealistic and adolescent fantasies. Then, a short while later, the
same people say "Oh yes, I was always for that plan, and it was inevitable that it would happen, and has nothing to do with the work of the early pioneers who fought for it, because it was just 'historically necessary' at this moment."

Once you read the plan, you'll understand why you should sign the ad at www.tikkun.org/iraqpeace and why you should help us build Generosity sunday. And yes, we are not afraid of talking about "shoulds" to a world that has allowed the killing of 600,000 Iraqis in the past few years and in which the Congress voted in by well-intentioned people like you and me is now voting to give 93 billion new dollars for this year alone to George Bush to pursue the war in Iraq. Yes, there are shoulds and should nots, and we think we have a strategy that should be suported.
Read about Geenrosity Sunday at www.spiritualprogressives.org
after you've read the section on the Global Marshall Plan, please!

Lecture series in Karlsruhe
Speech by Franz Josef Radermacher

The lecture series "Shaping Globalization" which was started in June 2004 deals with variuos aspects of globalization and involves high-level speakers. It is organized by the Global Marshall Plan university group Karlsruhe in cooperation with AIESEC.

This is already the 6th series of lectures organized by the students. The first speech was given by Prof. Dr. Dr. Franz Josef Radermacher on "Globalization As A Matter of Survival - Can Sustainable Development Still Be Reached?" Because of the success of Prof. Radermacher's previous lectures, this year's lecture took place in the "AudiMax". More than 400 students and guests came. This shows the public's interest in these issues in times of constant and rapid change. More than 100 people signed up for the group's mailing list to stay informed about Global Marshall Plan Initiative and globalization issues.

The second lecture on "Globalization of Financial Markets" had to be postponed due to the hurricane "Kyrill". Further topics were
"Sustainable Management" presented by Ludwig Allgoewer from the Malik Management Center St. Gallen and "Sustainability Defended Against Its Aficionados" presented by Prof. Dr. Armin Grunwald, director of the Office of Technology Assessment at the German Parliament.

All lectures were followed by lively discussions and conversations among the audience. This great success was a motivation for the Global Marshall Plan group to continue organizing the lecture series in order to establish a regular forum for exchange of ideas in Karlsruhe.
