b) A common slogan for the civil society
Together with a number of German civil society organizations, the Global Marshall Plan Initiative is preparing for the G8 in Germany in 2007. The group agreed that a common motto is needed. A working group, which the Global Marshall Plan Initiative is part of, is currently looking for a slogan for the NGOs. Several of your supporters already contributed their ideas. And we are still collecting more. You can post them at
www.togetherforequality.org
The working group identified the issues social justice, protection of the environment and peace as a common basis of the different actors. This could be the basis to develop a slogan, You can post your ideas for a slogan at

Executive summary (pdf, 300 kB)
Presentation (pdf 320 kB)
Overcoming poverty as prerequisite for peace - a wise decision of the committee to honor this. Only few people have done more to show people a feasible way out of the vicious circle of poverty. On average five people benefit from one credit. Hence it is estimated that about 100 million people altogether have benefited from credits like the ones of the Grameen Bank.
