11 November 2005, Stanford University
In a speech to graduate students Gore said "What is needed today is a 'global Marshall Plan' to save the world's environment and give billions of
dispossessed people the tools needed to participate in the marketplace in a rational way. [...] Remember that right is still right even if nobody is
doing it. Wrong is still wrong even if everybody is doing it. These values have to be integrated. It is not too extreme to say our survival depends on
it. Be the change you want to see in the world."
Article in Stanford Report, 16 November 2005
It is done. In due time for Christmas the book "Hoffnung Europa" (320 pages) is released. After intensive work on the different articles,
the title "Hoffnung Europa – Strategie des Miteinander" was finally chosen as fitting best the contents of the book. The book´s
cover is decorated
with the EU´s typical symbols of yellows stars against a blue background.
Thanks to all who gave their feedback on the cover design very spontaneously - your feedback was well taken into account. The book could not have
been realized without the support of all those volunteering to help us with translations, lectorship, ideas and drafts for the cover etc. In total,
more than three dozen people were involved in the project - besides the 40 authors. We would like to thank you all for the terrific support and the
good cooperation. We are already looking forward to the next time...

(BÖLW - Federation of organic food industries) in Berlin. The conclusion drawn after the meeting is that ecology and social balance are not a luxury
but a necessity for an working economy. In the BÖLW's press release, the Global Marshall Plan is mentioned as a remedy.
