In the Austrian region of Salzburg the awareness campaign for a Global Marshall Plan by many of the Initiative's supporters yielded fruits. Landeshauptfrau

Dr. Alois Kothgasser declared their support for the Global Marshall Plan Initiative.
In the past week, two of the Initiative's prominent supporters in Germany spoke out publicly in favor of a Global Marshall Plan.
Rita Suessmuth, former president of German Parliament, called for a Marshall Plan brought forward by Europe and the international community
in an interview with Deutschlandradio. When interviewed by Lausitzer Rundschau, Heiner Geissler, former German Foreign Minister, stressed the
importance of an Eco-Social Market Economy in shaping globalization in a way that it is just and humane.

Peter Hesse represented the Global Marshall Plan Initiative at the "Expert Round Table on the development of new academic programs, pedagogical
tools and educational software for promoting the "Millennium Development Goals" in Paris on 24 October 2005.

On Saturday 8 October 2005 representatives of five European schools met at the King-Alfred-School in Burnham-on-Sea (UK) for the Comenius
teacher's conference. There it was decided to work on the topic of the Global Marshall Plan in the next year of the Comenius project. Present at
the presentation of the project proposal was the British MEP Graham Watson who endorsed the idea.

For his committment and dedication for the Global Marshall Plan Initiative, Franz Josef Radermacher will be awarded the
"Salzburger Landespreis für Zukunftsforschung 2005" (Salzburg State Award for Future Studies 2005). This award is only awarded triannially.
The award ceremony, which will take place on 14 November in Salzburg, is open to the public.
